Rooms were clean and adequate. Staff attentive and friendly. However, there was a Wedding on the same day and when we arrived for our evening dinner, we didn't get our starters until 8.45pm when our table was booked for 6.30. Although, to be fair to the staff, we were 25minutes late. We had an 20mth old boy with us, who sat very patiently waiting for a pizza. This took 1hr 45mins to be brought out. We were then told that the Chef was having a meltdown in the kitchen.Cant fault the waiting staff, but if you want to starve to death or eat at midnight then this is the place to go.

Wonderful venue for a family wedding! Food was amazing! Breakfast was brilliant! Friendly and attentive staff made for a lovely stay and really enjoyed our time away. Stayed in terrace suite and enjoyed the lovely views and rooms very well decorated and comfortable bed too!

AMAZING... WOW.... what more can I say. The team could not do enough for us during our 5 night stay. We arrived for our wedding and booked an executive room, however when we arrived, the team up-graded us to the "Honeymoon" suit, it was soooooo luxurious and comfortable, we wanted for nothing. The food... it was everything and more, the food and the service at breakfast was second to none, the whole experience was better than we could have hoped for, and the smoked salmon was fabulous. To top it off our amazing time at the Western, "Scott Nicol and Debbie Campbell" were performing in the main reception area and if you want to hear local talent, look no further. Our time was memorable for all the right reasons, the only downside to our stay was the checkout.... we had to leave. The biggest thank you to each and every member of the team, each one played a part in making our stay so memorable. We'll be back.....:-)

Spent 2 nights at Western House Hotel on a golf trip with friends. Found the bedrooms clean and tidy, but possibly in need of modernisation. The public accommodation and restaurant were very nice and inviting. The strength of this hotel however is the staff! We received exceptional service from the reception and restaurant staff. Chloe in particular, was exceptional! Would not hesitate on returning again, when next in Ayr.

Had a fantastic weekend celebrating our son’s wedding at the Western House hotel. All of the staff were fantastic and could not have been more helpful to all guests. Compliments to the chef for the excellent food throughout the weekend. We would highly recommend this hotel for anyone’s wedding. The hotel grounds looked lovely in the glorious sunshine and were a beautiful backdrop for the wedding photographs . Overall a massive thank you to all of the staff for making the event run smoothly.

Lovely hotel we had a great time room comfortable . Quiet and relaxing grounds around the area lovely for a walk . We had a lovely meal . Staff friendly and helpful. We had a comfortable stay certainly visit again if we were in the area . Wold loe to see a race day

Beautiful hotel and surroundings, we stayed in a twin room within the court yard building. The room was spacious and spotless. Hotel staff were lovely from booking in/checkout, breakfast and sunset. Buffet breakfast is worth it, plenty of choice and takeaway cups available for hot drinks. Very cosy hotel, plenty of seating areas to relax and enjoy a drink in the lounge.

PURRFECTION. Can't wait to go back. From the minute I entered to the minute I left-it was Shangrila. The magnificent decor, the total comfort and what can I say about the staff? I have trained hotel staff all over the UK but there is absolutely NOTHING I could improve the staff here-without exception-they are perfect.Rachel in reception, Alex, Theo and Caroline in housekeeping to name a few and general manager Zak were all wonderful. Room service, perfect and IMMEDIATE (how do they DO that???) By now you will understand I love this hotel-don't hesitate to book--you won't be sorry. LADY MCLEAN-SMITH.

Western House hosted my daughter’s wedding, it was a fantastic day and very much in part to Wedding coordinator Laura, and her very professional team. Mary Jane looked after every little detail on the day including managing the Wedding party so we were in the right place at the right time, we didn’t have to think or worry about a thing. Everyone from hotel staff, waiting staff and the amazing food prepared by the top class chef’s were praised by all our guests and those with special requirements were very well catered for. The rooms in the main house are absolutely fantastic and again praised by all who stayed in them ,so too were the courtyard rooms again very well received by all who stayed overnight. A massive thank you to the hotel and can thoroughly recommend if you are planning anything from an overnight stay to a private function or wedding !!
