The Falcon Hotel

This hotel has a compelling vibe, and I do recommend you to opt for it for a stay on Bornholm. The bed is second to none - sleep quality is probably the best I’ve experienced in a hotel. Breakfast is good, and the 24/7 free coffee is a big plus. The sitting areas inside and outside are nice. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Reason why this is not a five star rating is the bathroom. Other reviews has pointed it out: it’s is (too) small, and the shower solution simply is disqualifying; the cabin is open to the toilet and floor, resulting in a soaking wet toilet and sprayed floor after showering. I for one simply don’t get why the hotel doesn’t equip the cabin with some kind of door to eliminate this issue. There are plenty of solutions out there for narrow space scenarios

The hotel is located on the main road through Sandvig-Allinge and it offers free parking. We booked 3 nights in the middle of the week in August (Dkr 4224 including breakfast). I made the mistake booking directly with the hotel asking for sea view and a terrasse. What we got was a tiny room (room 35) and the bathroom the smallest I have ever seen. The bathroom was a wet room, which means that when taking a shower, one is unable to avoid spraying the toilet etc. The whole room was wet afterwards. The amenities were poor. No conditioner and no cotton buds. The small room had so many decorating cushions and other stuff, which made it feel even smaller. We could see bits of the sea when standing up in the room. Very poor lighting made it impossible to read at night. The room had a strange mouldy smell, which was still in our clothes after we left. Our terrasse was not private and there were no chairs. Instead, there was steps leading straight up to all the rooms which meant, that people looked straight into our room when climbing the steps. Apart from the disappointing room, the décor of the hotel itself is absolutely stunning and breakfast was nice. It would have been perfect if the bread roles had not been bake-off. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We did not feel our room was value for money.

We were 4 adults having the greatest 4 days stay. Upon arrival it turned out there had been a double booking for the suites we booked, and we couldn't get. They instantly offered us a 5-course gourmet dinner incl. wine menu as compensation. Really nice - and the standard rooms are also nice. The food, both breakfast and dinner is fantastic and tasty, and they prioritize to serve really good coffee. You feel the Italian "love and passion" for good and well-prepared food and service. The atmosphere at the hotel is warm, "homy" and family-like. They do their best to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Best stay we ever had in Bornholm, and we will definitely come back!!

Had booked 2 nights but ended up staying 4 nights. This is one of those rare hotels where you get a homelike feeling the moment you enter lobby. Not quite sure what exactly does it, probably a combination of the the staff, the smell of flowers, the adjacent lounge with its chesterfield furniture and fireplace, the free 24/7 coffee (from an excellent automatic coffee brewer) and the wine dispenser giving easy access to wine by the glass with 8 bottled wines to choose from. Amazingly, this hotel grows on you, so much that you don’t wanna leave. The breakfast buffet consists of delicacies with attention to quality rather than quantity, with the Prosecco as the icing on the cake :-) Do yourself a favor and have dinner in the restaurant at least once during your stay - you won’t regret it. Other than that, we tried nearby “Ella’s Restaurant” which I can also recommend. I’ll definitely be back to this “my new favorite place” in Bornholm
