Premier Inn Pickering

The staff are friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the room assigned to us was for disabled guest i guess , room spacious , clean but the room smelled of urine. I cannot pinpoint where the smell was coming from but i think its either the bed or the duvet. We did not bother to ask the staff for us to relocate rooms or change beddings because we arrived very late at 3am. We eere tired and sleepy so just slept on it and the following day we were rushing to get ready to attend a wedding. When we arrived at night for our second night stay, we were dis appointed that our room wasn't cleaned. We did not have clean cups and coffee to make. This was a bad experience for us staying in a premiere inn hotel.

Arrived with 2 small children (3 & 7) and there was no staff to help with the check-in process. We eventually spoke to a member of bar staff as we had prepaid meals. We were told that we would only be able to book our meal for 8:15 pm which is far too late for our children. After requesting maybe an earlier time they very quickly offered 7:45 which seemed like a quick change of heart. Even though this was still late we had no other alternative. Upon arriving for dinner the restaurant was very quiet and there was no way we couldn’t have been offered an earlier time. From arriving the service was terrible. We had to chase for courses and the bill at the end as our service took over 2.5 hours in a restaurant with only a few tables taken. The restaurant seemed under staffed and the 2 available seemed to be either on breaks or chatting at the bar. To make the dining experience worse, the food quality was terrible. We were openly told that the beef for the nachos is never ordered by the kitchen as they were a costly addition so the nachos were a very broken handful of crisps with 3 squirts of sauce from a bottle, cold and truly vile. The rest of the meals were nothing short of microwave quality at best. What is lacking is an appreciation that customers are actually paying for an experience or something that they are hoping to enjoy. The bathroom shower area had black mould and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. We didn’t get back to our room until 10:30pm following our dining experience and with the kids being beyond tired it was a less than fun night! We’ve stayed at different Premier Inn many times previously and have always had a pleasant experience. This one has really put us off using again. There was also no staff when leaving to speak to. Very disappointed.

A comfortable room and the bathroom was great for accessibility. The corridor and doorway inside the room were a little bit of a squeeze for my wheelchair but with patience and delicate manoeuvring I was able to move about. I liked the low bath and built up area to sit on for drying, it made having a soak and enjoyable experience.
