Hotel Ciclamino

It does not look fancy, or anything like that. Other than that, this place is perfect. We've been there over ten times, during winter, spring and summer, and we'll be back (autumn?). To begin with, it is located in a beautiful valley, right next to Monte Civetta. Then, there's the food -- the quality is superb, everything is fresh, they make their own pasta and so on. Just be aware that dinner is Italian (antipasti, primi, secundi, dessert) and the portions are large. If that's not enough, Gabriele is a sommelier and they have an impressive wine collection from all over Italy. The Rossi family, who runs the place, is super friendly and they know the area, since they live there for generations. They can be very helpful if you want to have walks, ski, and so forth. Their advice is up-to-date (after snow, they will tell you which trails are open, they have good estimations where animals can be seen, and so forth), and if you do not plan on having a round trip, they can pick you up at the end of your walk and bring you back to your car. To top it all, the prices are more than reasonable, or rather -- they are surprisingly cheap. I know I sound like an advertisement, but I think the fact we returned to the place so many times, and will return in the future, speaks for itself.
