The Alexandrian Old Town Alexandria, Autograph Collection

I am glad I didn’t pay full price ($350/night) for this. Great location and everything looks nice from the outside and the lobby. The room is decent from the looks but once you stay in there, you will realized nothing is working properly. The AC/Heater was not working, the control for the AC/Heater doesn’t work so the AC was blasting cold air all night on NYE!!! So we were both freezing and it was 2am! The TV only have 5 channels and 2 are the same as the other 2, so in reality only 3 channels. The TV quality is also very outdated. Feel like we were watching TV from the 80s/90s when it was the actual 2024 NYE concerts. And on the 5th channel, it is just showing how DirectTV subscription is expired, like what? The Wifi in the room is not free unless you are a Bonvoy member. There was less than a quarter roll of toilet paper on the Tp dispenser and they also didn’t provide a second roll. The body wash pump was empty and the shampoo ran out. The bottom side of the toilet seat looks very filthy as if they haven’t clean that part of the toilet seat in a while. The floor of the bathroom was also very dirty. We usually check if we can ask for a late check-out the night before, but we called the front desk with no answers. When they finally answered, they said we have to call back at 7am to let us know. Ehh Hello? The whole point of getting a late check out is so we can sleep in? So I had to set an alarm to call back at 7am to get a 1pm check out. It was a bit annoying. This was a big disappointment for me because this was supposed to be a nice hotel from Marriott as the Autograph Collection. Especially for $350 a night in the middle of Old Town Alexandria, I had expected better quality. Not to mention the chaos during check-in. Seems like there were only 4 workers there for HUNDReDs of customer. People were angry about being stuck in the parking garage and no one can help them and they gave a lady a room that currently already have someone checked-in. Apparently the lady opened the door when the guy was showering in the room. What a chaos!

It began with a musty moldy smelly room and a surprise resort fee. It continued with a mistaken visit by security (they came banging on the door as we were preparing for a wedding.). Three calls to the general manager were unanswered. I expected much more given the room rate.

Beza Yared was above and beyond! Made my stay that much more enjoyable! Also a young black lady stood out to me! I forget her name but she was a joy and hooked it up with the lavender lemonade special drink for the guest! Not to mention the Kings restaurant breakfast was a sweet cherry on top the morning after my departure.

Charming spot close to all of the fun. Beautiful lobby, comfortable room, and tasty restaurant. Two levels of parking in the garage below the hotel. Bathroom was comfortable for two people getting ready. We both slept very well as it was nicely quiet.

Booked a terrace room (more expensive) - was given a non terrace room. Was promised by Bella at front desk a reduction in my bill and additional marriott points. Did not receive either.... I am traveling often to the area now.... but will not be staying at the Alexandria ever again.

Nice and clean hotel in the center of all the activity. Friendly staff at front desk and a good breakfast. Just beware the parking garage has a very low ceiling. 6 feet. We drive a newer check silverado and it was very very close. We had a king room on the 4th floor. Kind of on the smaller side but it was fine for the 1 night

Nice place to stay with comfortable beds. Friendly staff and nice patio restaurant. We ended up staying here to meet family in the area and it was a nice property. We had breakfast on the patio and everything was superb from checkin to check out

Great stay, great people - Beza H, Beza Y and Chery - thank you very much appreciate it, highly recommended if you’re in Old Town can’t go wrong and the location is second to none. The attention to detail by all staff is beyond belief ! Would definitely come back any day of the year

We stayed here at our daughter’s suggestion. We paid an exorbitant rate ($381), noticing as I was Goolge-ing some random directions that the spot rate for tonight is $253!!! Lesson learned (keep checking reservation vs updated “Spot” rates). The location is superb and there was on-site parking, BUT: The room was serviceable only, though beds were comfortable. Old fashioned tub-shower combo that we found hazardous at our advanced ages (bottom of tub should have better anti-slip treatment). Our room was only made up after 4 pm after first night’s stay. Breakfast was good on Friday. Unfortunately, Saturday (as well as Sunday) had a brunch menu, eliminating the two breakfast dishes we’d planned on ordering. “Bacon” for or “Virginia Breakfast” was pork belly bacon-thick slices of tasteless pork. We asked for sausage replacements. The garage is downright gross: SO dark it was frankly scary and I’m 6’2”, 240 pounds. INSTALL MORE LIGHTING!!!! We’ll likely look for another hotel next time.
