We had an early family Christmas lunch and the food, drink and service were excellent. Our waitress was very helpful and made sure we got everything we needed. Thank you to everyone at The Crown for making our lunch so fantastic. I would recommend this pub to anyone.

Lovely staff and absolutely incredible food! 10/10 My work came here a second time for our Christmas do, we all loved the 101 Bar (private bar) and the food was unbelievably good. Thank you to Clare and Donna for the amazing service! I very highly recommend eating and staying here, a few of my colleagues stayed the night and said the rooms and room service was top notch

After a warm welcome and an appreciative look at the ales available, our group enjoyed a delicious three-course Christmas lunch. It was absolutely delicious - everyone enjoyed their choices. The pub itself has an olde worlde charm. Our group had the 101 Bar to ourselves. There, you'll find memorabilia honouring those who fought in WWII. I highly recommend The Crown!

I visited the Crown for a business lunch and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. It's a beautiful pub in a quaint village. The staff were extremely helpful - especially the manager, Clare. The food was great and the kitchen staff were very accepting of amendments to my order. 10/10 I highly recommend!

I had a lovely Christmas dinner, the service was prompt and efficient and the bearded chef was particularly good. I think he name was sponge or spring onion, or even sputnik? A Jolly large man, I'm afraid my hearing wasn't at it's best. In any case send him my thanks. All the staff made my experience wonderful.

I attended a work Christmas party at The Crown and IT WAS AMAZING! The table was laid beautifully as we arrived and the whole experience felt very personalised. The Christmas menu was delicious, all of my colleagues enjoyed their meal and I was particularly impressed with the veggie option and the generous portion sizes. The service was just as good, everything arrived together both Clare and Donna were super helpful and looked after us all. I would definitely recommend it and will be visiting again!

We stayed here with friends for our annual Xmas walks around Aldbourne on 9th to 10th Dec. The pub is very charming and quirky. The rooms are very clean with comfy bedding especially the fluffy pillows. We also had dinner which was cooked well on all of our meals, the staff from start to leaving couldn’t have been more friendly always engaging in conversation when required. The lady serving breakfast in the morning was a real credit to the pub always available for a morning chat but busy all of the time, by the way the breakfast was lovely plenty of options. Well done to everyone at The Crown in Aldbourne hoping to see you all this time next year (2025)

Steak and chips is not hard to deliver but they failed spectacularly. Overcooked and very salty, onion rings practically incinerated, pepper sauce (£3 a pop tiny portions and not in the slighted bit peppery). And they had the cheek to add a 10% service charge and the grumpy waitress hardly even bothered to move from her station or enquire, barely even had time to take our order, too busy on Facebook or whatever. Will never eat there again. Too many good pubs within a short distance. I took my family there expecting at least a half decent meal and deeply embarrassed about how bad one of my local pubs could be. Also happened to eat on a music night with the most horrendous female vocalist, who happily was only just starting as we left.

Sadly disappointing. Very restricted menu if you don't eat meat or fish. We were told there were no pies and no burgers! I decided on pan fried Seabass which was on the specials leaflet. Before we could order, another guest was seated and he was told they didn't have pies, burgers or the pan fried Seabass ! When our waitress returned I asked if they had the pan fried Seabass, she said 'oh no, we haven't got that either'. We gave up, finished our drinks and cancelled the table. What they call a 'real pub' I call rough round the edges.
