Varandas do Atlântico by Portugalferias

Good - * we booked the 4 bedroom apartment for 4 adults & 4 children. The apartment was enormous & exceeded our expectations. Even found a sneaky roof top solarium but no seats. * Each bedroom had its own enclosed balcony. The main bedroom had a sitting area, ensuite & amazing view of the sea. 1 other bedroom had ensuite. Family bathroom for the other 2 rooms to share right next to them so like ensuite. * Food was great in the restaurant & Ana was very friendly & super helpful. *We all felt very safe. *We had 2 hire cars & parked behind the apartments easy. *Very easy to drive to town, lidl & aldis *Laundrette 5 mins above macdonalds was very good. *Room serviced daily but no clean linen over our 7 night stay. only once replaced towels which could be improved. *The staff are super helpful & allowed us extra time after checkout - essential with 4 kids. *Pools were clean & nice area. *We felt very safe here & in albufeira too. *Short walk to beach & town but not with kids!! Bad - *all mattresses need replacing or toppers, they are rock hard. It was horrific trying to sleep. *The apartment is great but dated. 3 seater 70s sofa in the lounge for an 8 person apartment???!!!! *There is no heating & the October evenings are chilly. We were freezing & went to bed early to be warm. Extra blankets were provided but just too cold. Hilarious being told to put on more clothes to stay warm by the receptionist. *Bathrooms very poor though. The smaller room with ensuite had a tiny shower. The shared bathroom has bath & shower is a poor old head with no wall fixing so impossible to shower. The main bedroom bathroom was a bath & the shower also no wall mounting, head leaked so badly down the pipe that it was worse than the main bathroom so all 8 of us had to share the shower in the tiny bathroom & was cold by the time 5th person done. Having said all of the bad they are not so bad, can easily improve some of this and would absolutely recommend and return.

Just back from Varandas do Atlantico after 10 day stay with family.Cant say enough about the experience we had staying here. From arrival meeting Bella and Michaela to the pool restaurant and bar run by the fabulous Anna.The property is safe,quiet and just a 12 minute stroll downhill to old town Square.If you don't fancy the uphill walk back,uber is very cheap. All the guests we met during the week were repeat visitors,which we will now become ourselves..great stay.

These apartments are a gem of a find . If you are looking to relax then these are for you. They are so spacious and spotless. They are 5 mins in a taxi from the old town . There is an on-site bar and restaurant who is run by the fantastic Anna. Across the street is a small shop which does food then at the end of the road is a small supermarket and coffee shop , which is so reasonable. There were only a handful of us staying here but everyone was lovely . The only negative was the owner being rude about us moving a sun lounger , however I would not let this put us of coming back . I would normally go for 4/5 star hotels but these apartments are fantastic , if you are looking a value for money break then there are for you

We had a wonderful stay here with our 3 teenage children. The apartment is incredibly spacious and we had beautiful sea views. There is no air conditioning as some have said, but there is no need for it as the shutters closed during the day keep the apartment really cool- it was lovely to come back to after a day out! The pool is quiet with a bar and you can always get a sun lounger with shade. Michaela at the front desk was so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. It is a short walk down to the old town and the beach and a taxi back up is around 6 euros. If you are a family it is cheaper to get a taxi than the bus as the bus is 2 euros each. Thank you for a lovely holiday and we hope to come back soon!

The apartments are very spacious compared to many others which to me is a massive plus, peaceful, spotlessly clean, two great pools, house keeping staff lovely. Always a shame I have to go back home and wait for the next time. Great value for money. Happy times.

This place never disappoints, excellent spacious apartments offering fantastic value for money, great people, great poolside bar run by the lovely Ana with fantastic food, what's not to like. I never look anywhere else when I go to Albuferia.
