Extremely dissapointed! That’s my feeling after my holliday at Maritim Hotel Amelia, in Albena, in August 2023. Maybe my expectation were too high (considering, also, the other reviews on this hotel), but I’m going to write here my experience and you can judge by yourself whether I exaggerate or not. I stayed there 7 nights with my family, in an appartment, at the ground level - Appartment 13!. We paid for the top package: luxury ultra all inclusive, so I expected to receive top quality services. Let’s start with the good things. The hotel seems to be quite recently renovated and the interior design looks pretty well. The personnel was in general ok, polite and helpful. As about the food I would say it was at average level (some dishes ok, others not, and not so much variety)… And that is all about good things. Now, let’s talk about the shortcomings. As I said the first impression about the room was very good. But then I went into the bathroom where I had to face the strong noisy sound of a fan which started afther a turned on the light. And it continued about 5 to 10 minutes after I turned it off. The noise was so strong that many times during my stay I preferred to not turn on the light at all. I also tried to cover the fan with a towel but it was not a big improvement at all. And despite the strong noise, the fan efficency was very low - many times I could feel smell of cigarette smoke coming from the other (bath)rooms through the ventilation system. I don’t know if that problem was in other rooms of the hotel. But it was in my appartment (no. 13!) and it was very disturbing. In the other toilet the fan made also strong noise when you turned on the light, but hopefully, it st Another problem was about shower cabin. As they didn’t make properly the slope of tiles we had a wet floor all the time in front of the shower, so I got wet many times in the night when I used the bathroom (expecially because I didn’t turn on the light to avoid the fan noise which could wake up my dother sleeping in the livingroom) The cleaning of the room was also poor. Sometimes they did a good job, but the most of the times they didn’t. When we asked them to clean the room it they said it would come someone imediately so we spend some time outside the room to let them to do the job. However, after two hours when we come back we realized that it was nobody there to clean the room. So we asked them again, they finally got someone so we had to stay againt outside the room for a while. Sometimes they cleaned the terrace, sometimes not. The same with changing the towels in the bathroom. However it was far away from the quality of a 5 stars hotel. In addition, the lawn in front of the apartment's terrace was poorly maintained - so it wasn’t a very nice view. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking, which is against the rules for a 5 star hotel.
