Older property with some recent upgrades. Happened to get booked in handicap room with queen bed, fortunately not facing highway, so reasonably quiet. Room had a small fridge, which for some reason was put under a low shelf which was intended for hanging clothes for handicap guest. They took out the hanging bar, so there was no place for us to put our hanging items until we moved the fridge into the bathroom to serve as a counter for our toiletries.
Shower was plumbed backwards - we turned the handle to hot setting and got only cold... until we discovered that by turning the valve to the cold position (almost off) that it was hot... but only for a short shower. The 2nd night we got to our room after 11pm and had no hot water at all. When we called the front desk, the manager (guy) said there was nothing he could do, he's not a plumber, and no compensation would be issued for our inconvenience, and hung up. Then the other manager (his wife) called me on my cell phone and apologized, saying there was a vacant room in the other building that we could shower in, just come get the room key. So we collected our toiletries and robes and went out to get a much appreciated shower.
Next morning the manager (the guy) met me as I was loading the car and apologized again, saying he thought he had taken care of the hot water problem. I told him it was fine, we felt better after we had showered and we slept comfortably.
