This is such a fantastic property, and Margarita could not have been warmer or more accommodating. My family and I felt so lucky we found this place. We had an early flight and it was so much more magical staying here than at one of the hotel chains adjacent to the airport. We woke to the sounds of the jungle instead of traffic, and Margarita woke up early to make sure we had hot coffee and snacks for the plane. She had also arranged a shuttle to the airport, which was a very quick drive. The room was just lovely, so clean, and had everything you need. Could not recommend more and we will be back!

Villa Margarita is the dream of a kind Dutch woman who, along with an excellent staff and several rescue dogs, does everything she can to make her guests feel like friends visiting her home rather than just staying in the hotel. The grounds are lush with tropical landscaping, the common outdoor dining area is the focus where delicious breakfasts are served and strangers become friends over a cold beer. The rooms are simple, but cozy (she could upgrade the pillows, however). The swimming pool is relaxing and the bustle and chaos of San Jose seems many miles away even though Villa Margarita is just 10 minutes from the international airport. Our family had a fantastic time there. The "zoo" Rescue center is just around the corner. This made our trip even better. Highly recommended over staying in the city. Tranquil and awesome.

Margarita is an absolute gem and Villa Margarita is such a special place. It was our first stop after our flight and before our drive to the Caribbean coast. Lush gardens, Bohemian decor, and incredible food and coffee. Highly recommend!

Staying at Margarita"s place was delightful. The place is charming and the rooms are very cozy. I was travelling with my family of 4 and this place hit the spot for one night to gather energy and keep going. If you are looking for a hotel experience this might not be for you but if you want something like a B&B with character then it will strike all the right chirds. And if you like dogs you will get an extra bonus.

We arrived late but Margarita was waiting for us and was very welcoming . Breakfast was delicious and kids had fun walking around and playing at the playground. Our family room was huge!!

The owner, Margarita was very welcoming and kind to our family. We got in at night for checkin from a late flight and had a rough time getting our 4 yo son settled in the room. Margarita was patient and kind to help us get acquainted to the room. Just made a difficult situation much easier to handle. Thank you so much for a wonderful first night on our Costa Rican adventure!
