Imlil Authentic Toubkal Lodge

We had a wonderful stay! Lahcen and his lovely family were helpful and accommodating and helped us arrange guided walks and further experiences on our journey. The home was cosy with airconditioned rooms and great food.

In the heart of Morocco lies a hidden gem: Imlil. This mountain village offers a gateway to one of North Africa's most iconic peaks: Toubkal. During my recent visit, I had the privilege of staying in a remarkable lodge and immersing my friends and myself in the warm hospitality of the Berber people. From the moment I arrived at the lodge, I was greeted by friendly smiles and warm Berber tea. Lahcem and the rest of the staff exuded a genuine sense of warmth and hospitality, making me feel instantly at home. The traditional Berber architecture of the hostel blended harmoniously with the surrounding landscape, offering stunning views of the Atlas Mountains. The cozy common areas were adorned with beautiful rugs and traditional artifacts, creating a welcoming and authentic a**osphere. Embarking on the ascent of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, required proper preparation and guidance. The hostel staff proved invaluable in ensuring a safe and memorable trekking experience, including two experienced trail runners who were key for enjoying and excellent experience in the ascent to Toubkal. They provided comprehensive information on the trail, weather conditions, and necessary equipment, helping me make informed decisions. Their expertise and local knowledge were indispensable, allowing me to embark on the adventure with confidence. The Berber people, from Atlas Mountains, have preserved their unique culture and way of life for centuries. Staying in the hostel provided an exceptional opportunity to connect with the local community and gain a deeper understanding of their customs and traditions. The hostel arranged for immersive cultural experiences, including the chance to savor authentic Berber cuisine. These encounters allowed me to forge meaningful connections and gain profound insights into the Berber way of life. The genuine warmth and generosity of the Berber people truly made my stay in Imlil unforgettable. From sharing meals with local families to engaging in lively conversations with fellow travelers, I felt a sense of belonging and camaraderie. The Berber community's unwavering hospitality and their willingness to share their rich cultural heritage left an indelible mark on my heart. My experience in Imlil, Morocco, was a harmonious blend of natural beauty, adventurous exploration, and cultural immersion. The exceptional hostel, with its impeccable service, knowledgeable staff, and comfortable accommodations, served as the perfect base for my Toubkal expedition. The majestic landscapes of the Atlas Mountains and the genuine hospitality of the Berber people made this journey an unforgettable one. We had an amazing 2 days staying with Lahcen and his family. The rooms are comfortable and warm, the terrace has an amazing view and is a great spot to relax and have breakfast in the mornings. The house is close to the town and all the main walking trails. We did cooking and bread making with Lahcen’s family which was an excellent and really unique experience. I would highly recommend staying here for a memorable trip to Morocco.

Our stay at Lachens home was absolutely incredible. We felt so welcome by all of his family. The accommodation is perfect and comfortable and set in such a nice part of Imlil. We loved every meal and snack we had while staying with him. We got to cook dinner one night with his family which was such good fun and a great experience. We can’t wait to return!

The stay at Lachens was sort of like a dream. The view from the balcony overlooking the mountains is so pretty. We are city folks so for us it was a couple of days to be able to dis connect and be in tune with the nature. Imlil is a serious trekking town but we are not hard core trekkers. So lachen arranged a guide with a mule to take us around the villages and surroundings which became the high light of our trip! We would have never done that much walking on our own but the guide even though didn’t know English was the most kindest knowledgeable guide who knew the terrain like the back of his hand. We felt safe and secure the whole time. Lachen can also arrange many tours if you want. He also arranged the taxi to and fro from Marrakesh at eve reasonable cost which was nice. The prepared dinner and breakfast also was delicious. The trek towards his house is very hilly and steep but we both were fine but just keep in mind for folks with mobility issues. But if one is coming to spend at Imlil, staying at valley serves no purpose. Staying at places high up is how you can enjoy the beauty and Laches place is perfect for that. This is no 5 star comfort place but him and his family took care of us very well. We felt so special and very taken care of which many 5 star places in the same trip we stayed at, we never felt!

Amazing place to stay when you visit Imlil. The lodge has an incredible view of the mountains from the terrace. The rooms are cosy and have a very authentic a**osphere, there are some really nice chill out areas with carpets and pillows too. The breakfast is so nice, Lahcen had everything laid out for us in the morning on the terrace with a perfect view and everything was delicious. This is absolutely an authentic place to stay and the host is very friendly and accommodating, we couldn’t have asked for more. The room was clean, beds comfortable, hot water and shower was great. Price and value is unbeatable. Thank you very much Lahcen!

We loved our stay with Lahcen. We felt welcomed by his whole family and their neighbours. The room was perfect for our family and the meals were AMAZING. Add to that the stunning view from the balcony and you have one great honestly. Thanks Lahcen!

A well worth recommended experience for anyone who wants to enjoy peace and tranquility and the most beautiful views of the Toubkal mountain range. Lahcen and his team took care of all the details and their warmth and hospitality will always be remembered. Thank you so much !

This was our best home stay or riad stay during our 2 weeks in Morocco! We were first greeted by Lahcen’s family with traditional tea and snacks on their terrace with incredible views. After cleaning up in our warm shower and bathroom, we were treated to a wonderful home-cooked meal with delicious soup, tagines, vegetables, and bread. Breakfast in the salon was equally delightful. Lahcen is a fantastic host and outfitter. He arranged several private treks & tours for us that were the highlight of our time in his beautiful country.
