Baga Hotel

A really wonderful hotel. The location is perfect. Every morning being served a beautiful traditional Turkish breakfast looking out onto the calm bay. An easy 25 min walk to town where there are plenty of good restaurants. The staff are lovely. We will be back..

We stayed at Baga Otel for 7 nights in September, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The hotel is situated in a small cove outside of Akyaka, it’s right on the waterfront, and has a small beach, a pool, and several decked areas. There were plenty of sun beds, and the swimming was gorgeous, as the cove is a mix of warm sea water and cooler fresh water from the nearby river. The hotel building itself is set back a little from the waterfront, but we could still hear the waves lapping from our room, if we left the window open. Our room, whilst on the small side, was immaculately clean, as were all the public spaces. The bathroom was nice, with a powerful shower, and decent towels. The bed was comfortable, and the sheets and pillows were of reasonable quality. The wifi was strong in our room, and also throughout the hotel. We got the impression that the hotel was mainly used to hosting Turkish guests, so the staff didn’t really speak much English, and at first they were a little reticent when dealing with us. But once they got used to us, and we tried out the few words of Turkish we knew, they were reasonably friendly. We were there on a bed & breakfast deal, and the Turkish Breakfasts we were served were just fabulous. Whole trays full of jams, eggs, cheeses, fruit, bread, borek, and cakes, along with coffee and Çay. We ate at the hotel restaurant most lunch-times, and had dinner there one night. The food was good, and it was reasonably priced. Most nights, we’d get the reception to call us a cab to take us into the town, a five minute ride, with a fixed price of 100tl (about £1.50) and eat at one of the many restaurants there. We really enjoyed our stay at Baga Otel, and our visit to the lovely Turkish holiday town of Akyaka. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, although if it’s important to you that the staff and locals speak perfect English, then this might not be the resort for you.

A ten minute walk from the busy seaside tourist town, Hotel Baga is a lovely, quiet hotel on a quiet cove. The room, albeit small, was charming with a view of the ocean through trees. Breakfast is a wonderful array of morning mezzas including bread, muffins, olives, cheeses, tomatoes, jams, Nutella, tahini, etc. The water off the hotel is colder than the rest of the cove, as a fresh water mountain stream enters the ocean right at the hotel. We were in Akyaka to kite board, and the hotel was less than 20 minutes away from the kiteboarding beach.

Went to a birthday party in this Hotel. What a beautiful setting this Hotel is in. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. This Hotel is immaculate, we all had a brilliant time. Would highly recommend this Hotel for a pleasurable stay in such a tranquil setting.

Please don't come here, and ruin it, by making the place too popular...! We can honestly say we have never felt so welcomed and comfortable at a hotel. There is nothing not to enjoy about this place: peaceful - clean - top notch facilities - beautiful location - too much tasty food for breakfast - the staff are just fabulous, so friendly and happy, nothing is too much trouble. The staff noticed it was my birthday... that evening we had a knock on our door and had a little chorus of Happy Birthday sang to me; streamers set off and a nice little plate of fruit to enjoy. Special thanks to Asli - she just has the most loveliest smile.

It's quite unclear to me how this place is able to secure a 4.5/5 rating. I had a reservation here for 2 nights. I made the mistake of not realizing that this was adults only, so I brought my kid as well, only to find out it's an adult only stay. I'm not blaming them for this, again, as it's clearly my mistake (however the hotel did not make it clear on the booking site that it was adults only - anyways) the bigger problem is the absolutely terrible attitude from the management, particularly the general manager, named Mr Ismail. The hotel charged me for the entire stay before showing up to the property, which is ok. When I said "well, if I'm not able to check-in, why don't you charge for me for the first night, and provide a refund for all other nights", the front desk said they needed to check with Mr Ismail. I was quite shocked to see that Mr Ismail did not really care to speak to us, but only communicated through the staff. Then Mr Ismail kindly "invited" us to his office which was quite far from the front desk. I've never stayed in a hotel where the general manager "asks" the guest to visit him in their office, rather than the other way around. I refused to meet him. Later I reached out to him on whatsapp, and needless to say, complete indifference to the situation. Their policy of not refunding anything back in such a situation is a complete rip-off. it's as if they do it on purpose (not make it clear it's adults only, charge people ahead of time, then not provide anything back) If you want a more professional experience, go to d-maris, edition in bodrum, d-resort in gocek, or mandarin oriental in bodrum. Do not stay here.

İlk defa bu bölgeye gittik ve tam bir hayal kırıklığıydı.Otelin odaları çok küçük, mayo bikinilerinizi kurutabileceğiniz bir yer ne yazık ki yok.Deniz ise aşırı dalgalıydı ve güneşlenme alanları çok kısıtlıydı. 3 günlük ödeme yaptık fakat 1 geceden sonra apar topar çıktık. Herşey bir yana denizin böyle olduğunu bilsek asla gitmezdik , suyun aşırı soğuk ve dalgalı oluşu sebebiyle Akyaka hayalim hüsranla sonuçlandı,tabii ki bu otelin sorunu değil. Deniz güzel olsaydı diğer sorunları görmezden gelebilirdik aslında. O küçük plaja dışarıdan da müşteri alındığını duyunca şaşırdım açıkçası. Bir puanı kırma sebebim ise odalarda çamaşır kurutacak ortam olmadığından.Oda küçükte olsa en azından fransız balkonlara takılabilecek çamaşır askılardan konulabilirdi Olumlu tarafları ise otelin temizliği çok iyiydi, kahvaltısı yeterliydi, çalışanlar güleryüzlüydü. Burada yorum yaparken amacım oteli kötülemek asla değil, sadece rüya gibi bir deniz beklentisi olanlar varsa burası o yer değil bilginiz olsun.

Yaz sıcağında serinletici bir deniz, temiz bir oda ve güler yüzlü çalışanlar… Tüm tatil beklentilerinizi karşılayacak bir otel Çalışanlara güler yüzü ve ulaşım konusunda sağladıkları imkanlar için teşekkür ederiz. (Rozer, Sabire, Taner ) Tekrar geleceğizz.

Otelin konumu güzel; ancak gülen bir tane çalışan görmedim; otel müdürü bile sabah boş boş yüzünüze bakıp 'günaydın' deme zahmetine girmiyor.. Otel restoranına dışarıdan davet ettiğimiz misafirmiz ile yemek yiyebilmek için (ödemesini yapacağımız akşam yemeğinden bahsediyorum) rica minnet etmek zorundasınız (!) Nedeni sorduğunuzda ise anlamı olmayan gerekçeler... Bir de giderseniz eşyalarınıza sahip çıkın; çünkü otele soktuğum kameralarda ispatlı eşyam (ki resepsiyondaki kişi ''otele getirdiğinize eminseniz kameralara bakalım'' gibi cümleler kurabilir. Belli ki zamanını boşa harcatmamı istemedi), girip beğenmeyip değiştirdiğim odada (yani henüz kimsenin kullanmadığı odada) kayboldu (!) İlgisizce maalesef bulamadık demeyi kendilerince yeterli buldular.
