Shawlee Cottage

Wonderful Hosts It was an absolute pleasure to stay here. The hosts were charming and attentive. It was fun to talk with them and the other guests, and the breakfast (made specially for each guest) was some of the best food I had while in the UK. The bathroom was pretty small, and the shower was one of those stand-alone ones that looks a bit like a box, but the bathroom and room were always very clean. The parking was a bit tight when every spot was full (I had a large rental car), but there was enough space for everyone. There was a cute bakery that is open in the mornings (and only takes cash) across the street as well as a post office and convenience store. The location isn't close to anything major, but it is nicely situated if you have a car and are hoping to travel to different places around Scotland. The wifi was great. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. In particular, I appreciated the wonderful hosts who you could tell truly cared about all their guests and who go out of their way to make everyone's stay enjoyable.

My husband, friends and I were visiting Scotland in the Edinburgh area and stayed at this lovely Cottage, it has absolutely the best hosts ever, the couple running this Cottage welcomed us with a very personable demeanor, clean rooms, a great breakfast to start our day, advise on travel, and directions to sites to visit, if ever in this area we will be back. 5 stars all the way..

The Shawlee Cottage is a convenient place to stay when you have a car as it is a short drive to Glasgow and the surrounding areas. The owners Sandy and Cathy make an effort to have a conversation with you around the breakfast table, and they sure do have stories to share. They make your stay very welcoming.

Fantastic place to stay for Scotland exploration. The cottage is cosy, very clean and with some history. Sandy and Cathy are lovely couple. Their Scottish breakfast is delicious. It was our first visit to Scotland and thanks to Sandy's advices we have seen great places that we would have missed. We will highly recommend Shawlee Cottage to everyone. And we will be back :)
