Kurulu Bay

Whenever we get a chance, we pack up and explore as much as possible with the family. This time, our destination was Kurulu Bay, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like we had stepped into paradise. The location and surroundings instantly transport you to a new world, creating a calming atmosphere. The architecture and attention to detail in the lush jungle setting, combined with breathtaking views of Koggala Lake, create a serene environment perfect for yoga or just relaxing by the tranquil lake. The 13 spacious suites are minimalist and beautifully blended into the landscape, with monkeys and birds adding to the natural charm. The two swimming pools were a great addition to the property, and our favorite was the one next to the restaurant. It was so convenient to have access to the kitchen whenever we wanted food or drinks. One of the highlights of our stay was the deck overlooking Koggala Lake. We spent the entire evening there, watching birds and the stunning sunset. The kids loved it. The food was exceptional, with every meal freshly prepared and full of amazing flavours. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, always going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. From the restaurant team to housekeeping, everyone was welcoming and helpful. A special thanks to the manager, Petar, for his outstanding hospitality.

One of the best places I’ve ever been to. The villa itself was so zen, we canceled all our plans to go sightseeing and stayed at the hotel because it was so calming! The staff was incredibly friendly and super welcoming! Mr. Peter was a delight! He personally welcomed us and always checked in with us! The architecture is just amazing! The room was very well made and not to forget the monkeys who came by every evening! We loved how blended the villas were with the nature! The food at the restaurant was just mouth watering! It was so good that me and my husband were looking forward to each meal! I recommend Kurulu bay 100% and if you want to have a proper getaway, this is your place!

Hotel is amazing! We got there at about 11 PM and even though restaurant and everything works till 10 PM we could have dinner and swim in the pool. Restaurant food was really really good. They have variety of options and everything is so good. While you enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner you can still enjoy nature cause everything is made around nature. All the trees that were there before are still there so that is why there are monkeys in the whole resort. Staff is very kind and is always here to help and organize whatever you want. They can always get you tuk tuk or car to take you to safari, local beach or any other destination. We had really good time and I would recommend coming here with your familiy, friends or even alone.

Kurulu Bay is an architectural and decor and design triumph set in magical lush garden overlooking the lake. It is made up of villa suites which are modern and minimalist yet very luxurious. I believe there is a main house too which you can stay in. There are two pools and a beautiful spa as well as a lovely Shala where morning yoga takes place. The dining experience is brilliant and all the staff are kind and helpful. This paradise is hard to find but we were lucky enough to be told about it by Madu at Fort printers hotel where we stayed prior to visiting Kurulu Bay. This is a place to unwind and relax in nature. Beautiful property and the hotel staff is great! A general issue we faced in SL is that the hotels either don't have a concierge or were not helpful at all in recommending activities, restaurants, agencies to book with. This was not the case here and was such a relief. Had a lovely and smooth experience booking everything. Their restaurant is great too. Just wish they had more activities and the location is hard to find on google maps.

Very sightseeing place. Wonderful naturalistic environment with the great view of the Koggala Lake. An amazing wind throughout the day, it was such a cool vibe. This place has a relaxing atmosphere. Food and drinks were very delicious with many varieties. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable with great facilities. This was a super luxury villa. I highly recommend this place for anyone who want to have a comfortable stay in a quite relaxing environment.

Very beautiful place.Looks like a paradise.If you wanna relax this is the ideal place.Several rooms of good quality.There is a splendid view from the rooms with a view of the lake.They have a very friendly and supportive staff.The yoga class and the spa of Kurulu bay is really worth.The place is very quiet and peaceful.Dont miss this place if you are visiting Galle.I am coming back definitely.Highly recommended!

An oasis of calm on the shore of Koggala Lake but only minutes from nearby beaches. The gardens are sublime, the staff attentive and caring, and the food a real feature of the hotel. It is well located for exploring the surrounding area, and when you return each night, when compared to the outside world, you feel you are somewhere very special.
