Minos Beach Art Hotel, a Member of Design Hotels

This was our second visit and we are so pleased we returned. At first we didn’t have the sea view we were promised but the issue was dealt with promptly and we were delighted with the view from our new room. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was of high quality and there was a good selection to choose from. We opted for half-board because we enjoy eating at the many nearby restaurants. The hotel grounds are extensive and beautifully maintained. There were plenty of waterfront beach beds available. We spent ages just looking at the wonderful view. The crystal clear sea was still pleasantly warm in early October. Although the hotel was fully booked on some days during our visit, it never felt busy. We spent a wonderful relaxing ten days and we were sorry to leave. Thank you to all the brilliant staff.

This hotel was uniquely beautiful and in a great location. We were able to walk to see other surrounding areas which were so fun . The view from our room was fantastic and swimming on a private beach was spectacular. It was tranquil and service was exceptional. Food was absolutely amazing. We ate at the hotel several nights . The breakfast buffet is above and beyond what you would expect. Highly recommend staying here to see a special part of Crete .

This was our second trip to this hotel, and we will come again. My husband had been ill, so we needed a place to rest and recover. It was hard for my husband to get to the dining room, so we had our dinners delivered to the balcony of our room. The chefs went out of their way to give us the traditional Greek food that we wanted, and every single member of the staff went out of their way to make us feed special. While my husband mostly stayed in the room, I used the pool and swam in the sea. The grounds are gorgeous, and everything is so beautifully maintained. There's even a library! Nothing can top the experience of staying at this lovely resort. Thank you, Minos Beach, for giving us the vacation that we so badly needed.

This is a truly beautiful and welcoming resort hotel. We felt pampered from the moment we parked our car in front of the hotel. The check in process was personalized and relaxing. Our room was away from the main building nestled in the lovely grounds and just up from the beach. The breakfast buffet is bountiful and delicious with made to order omelets if you so desire. We did have a few very small ants in our room but nothing like what a prior review mentioned. We also felt safe in our surroundings and the staff we encountered were all professional and attentive, including the housekeeping staff. We were extremely happy and left feeling relaxed and refreshed.

The hotel grounds are beautifully designed and the staff were very friendly. The housekeeping was fantastic and very helpful. A few things to take into consideration when booking the Annex water front bungalows. The description for these bungalows does not accurately reflect the reality. They are very outdated and need to be modernized. The AC unit and remote was so old it was yellow and the size of the TV was like a computer monitor. The bathroom window opened up into some sort of dark exterior storage unit making you not want to even open it. There is no privacy as it is separated from the hotel by an area of land that has a mobile trailer on it and what appeared to be someones residence. The annex bungalows are right next to it and on the other side of them is the public beach. We were so disappointed with this accommodation that we asked to change our room right away. The manager was very helpful in accommodating us and switching us to another room. Unfortunately we didn’t get the waterfront that we originally booked however the garden view bungalow was much more updated and very nicely decorated so we were happy. Later that same night we came home to ants everywhere in the room despite not having any food or windows open. We had to call the front desk to come and bring us spray and change the sheets as they unfortunately were in the bed as well. We kept spraying the room for the rest of our stay as we did continue to see them although the amount did decrease. If it wasn’t the middle of the night we would have checked out and stayed elsewhere as this just wasn’t what we signed up for given the price of the hotel. On our last night we found a baby scorpion in our room again this was a shock to us that this would happen in a hotel of this caliber. We understand sometimes these things happen but how these matters are dealt with by the hotel can go a long way and nothing was extended to us to compensate us for our experience. The hotel gym is also very disappointing there are only a few cardio machines and some dumbbells. In summary this just wasn’t a 5 star hotel in our view and we did not feel like it was worth what we paid.

One of the best holiday hotels I could have ever imagined. The place is simply stunning: lush Greek gardens with beautiful space to have privacy and explore nature, flora and stunning art. Located rich at the seaside with amazing access to the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. And last but not least: the restaurants and the staff were outstanding. Thank you especially to Simos, Manolos, Viola, and many more for making our stay so enjoyable, so “slowing” down, and simply beautiful. Highly recommended. We will come back
