Quinta de São Luiz the Vine House

Having read some of the reviews, we weren’t sure what to expect… don’t listen to them! We had a fantastic one night stay at the Vineyard! From arrival, the staff were lovely, welcoming and helpful. Our room was spotless, and we had a balcony with stunning views of the Douro! We were greeted with a complimentary bottle of ten year Koepka port and delicious pastries. The free port tour was brief but worth it, the tour guide again was very friendly and knowledgeable… and more complimentary port to enjoy on their terrace, with quite frankly, some of the best views I’ve ever seen! If you’re a runner, take your trainers as you can run the Vineyards in the morning to sunrise in the mountains! Only thing that wasn’t above average was the breakfast, but given our experience as a whole we didn’t mind!

We only went there for dinner. Poor experience. Pork cachaço and Arouquesa was quiet good. Cod rice was very poor , salted and the rice to watery ( I suspect that there was a delay , rice became to dry and they just added hot water. The cheese and "enchidos" plate was good. Wine also good , the option we choosed. Slow and poor service! poured the wine for tasting and served the person that tasted the wine. That's not the correct procedure. The wine is given for tasting than it's served to the ladies , starting from the oldest and the latest to be served is the one who tasted it. We asked for the menu and only one was handled and again given to me instead of the ladies. Wrong. When paying the waiter handled me the multibanco device , passing it just in front of my wife. Wrong ! the right thing to do was to come by my side and handled it. Emplyoees speak to much with the clients ! it was a torture to listen to them , they should limit to the essential information requested. Expensive considering the price/quality Not to repeat

Spent three nights here in March 23. Beautiful and enchanting view from our terrace and very comfortable room. Staff were so friendly and helpful - we had a problem with our hire car and they sorted it for us. Can’t thank them enough! Breakfast plentiful. Weather fabulous, wonderful sunsets. Peaceful and relaxing experience. The wine was good too! Liz

Chambre spacieuse avec vue plongeante sur le Douro. L’ensemble de l’hôtel est décoré avec énormément de goût. Petit déjeuner magnifique et personnel très attentionné. Je reviendrai volontiers lors d’un prochain voyage. La visite de la cave est comprise mais sans grand intérêt.

Fantástica estadia no coração do Douro Vinhateiro Uma piscina nas vinhas com vista rio, para um final de tarde super tranquilo Obrigado ao Marco (Diretor) pela simpatia e personalizada receção. Paisagem Patrimonio Mundial enriquecida por locais e como este.

Accueil moyen, mais surtout peti-dej disponible pas avant 9h !!!Quatre autres couples attendaient impatiemment l'ouverture ... Par contre des ouvriers avec une pelleteuse en action dès 7h (construction d'une piscine) !!! La boutique pour acheter du vin n'ouvre qu'à 10h Dommage la chambre avec terrasse est très belle
