The Syntopia Hotel - Adults Only

Stayed at this hotel 8th October for 10 nights weather was great except last 2 days really cloudy temperature dropped to 20 Celsius. Absolutely outstanding hotel drinks excellent food excellent customer service excellent spotless hotel favourite location in hotel was rooftop pool and bar the staff were brilliant they made our stay even better had a great time with all the great friends we made all the staff are great just to name some staff who made the holiday one to remember was George Andreas and Danny thank you guys it was great to meet you all

Brilliant hotel, very tranquil and just the right amount of elegant/posh without being too uptight or over the top. Beautiful crystal clear pools, with comfortable padded sunbeds all around. Food was exceptional and the bar service/waiters taking drinks orders from your sunbeds means you never have to lift a finger! Katarina treated us fantastically well in the hotel spa and got us some great deals on a couple of different treatments. A fantastic spa experience all around, left feeling very relaxed and much looser than when we walked in!

We are just home after the most incredible 2 weeks spent here. I don’t know where to begin with this place - the hotel complex itself is absolutely stunning, we loved the boho aesthetic, everything looked beautiful no matter where you looked / or what you took photos of. We particularly enjoyed watching the sunset at the Ano Rooftop bar alongside a cocktail. I will never get over that view and I’m so grateful that I got to experience it. We are a little confused at the poor reviews about the hotel entertainment we absolutely loved it. We thought it was classy, and elegant particularly listening to the piano and violins - these acts have such talent and were beautiful. The staff are ALL amazing. Always greeted with a friendly approach and couldn’t do more for you. They are all a credit to you and your hotel. I would like to give an extra special and warm thank you to the two girls working most evenings at the Ano Rooftop bar, they were so kind to us and made our experience really pleasant when they were serving us. We will really miss them. Please give them the recognition and credit that they deserve! As for the food, we both agreed that it was the best all inclusive food we have ever tasted. The food was fresh, very tasty and loved that there were options for everyone to enjoy. Kudos to all the catering staff for cooking such delicious food & for the waiting staff for their attentiveness and taking away plates promptly. Alongside this, we didn’t arrive till late evening and in our fridge was cold meats and cheeses. We thought this was such a lovely touch after travelling as we hadn’t eaten much that day so thank you for thinking of us. As for the location, it wasn’t ideal. Our room backed onto a really busy main road which made sleeping very difficult as a light sleeper - lots of traffic no matter what time of day it was, however we both agreed that the hotel facilities and complex overrides this. As for the sun beds, i would agree that it was a little challenging to get the ‘nicer’ beds, with people reserving beds and not coming back for hours. This was a little frustrating for us being guests for 2 weeks and only having the opportunity to use these twice during our day. The hotel states that they will remove towels that are not in use, however we never saw this enforced during our day. Additionally, people smoking around the pool as a non-smoker was not pleasant and ruined how we were able to enjoy the facilities with second-hand smoke being blown in our faces most days. Perhaps I would recommend having a designated smoke area for smokers or just removing smoking around the pool altogether. Lastly, we would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who made our stay at the Syntopia to be such a memorable one. 14 days worth of beautiful memories of Crete that we will carry with us forever.

We have stayed in a few all inclusive resorts, the last one being the Excellence Resort in Punta Cana - which has now set the bar for an inclusive. So the Syntopia had a lot to live up to. Check in - We arrived at about 11pm at night and check in was quick and easy. We were given cute wristbands which make a nice keepsake, the WiFi code and a QR code which takes you to the app. When we went to the room we had some snacks waiting as we arrived so late. This was cheese, hams, breadsticks, olives etc - which was a nice touch. App - The app is easy to use and all information is on there. You use this to book your time slot for the evening meals. Room - We paid a little extra for a pool view room. I think we got the short straw with this as it was above the bar, so the view was 25% pool view, 75% view of a roof. The room is the smallest we have ever stayed in when on holiday. In fact it is smaller than our bedroom at home. We arrived with one suitcase between us and had to move things around to fit it on the floor, so I am not sure how you would manage with two suitcases. Bedroom was comfy and the decor was nice. However everything is very dark. Toilet was really dark, where you do your makeup was also dark so hard to see what you are doing. The room looks nice with the mood lighting, but it is not really functional. I saw a few reviews on here complaining about the noise from the road, but we did not find this to be an issue. There was noise from the bar below until about 1am but I didn’t have an issue getting to sleep. There is a mini bar in the fridge which had a bottle of water daily. Everywhere else we have stayed usually includes soft drinks, crisps, snacks, nuts and sometimes spirits. We also had to pay to use the safe here, which we have never had to do on holiday. These two points is the reason I have given my review a 4 instead of a 5. Food - As mentioned earlier, we stayed at the Excellence so evening meals was a choice of A La Carte restaurants, in which we had a different restaurant every night. When I booked this hotel, I felt like having the same buffet restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner was a bit of a downgrade to what we were used to - how wrong I was. The food here is so good. Every single meal has been really fresh and tasty. Evening meals have a different theme each night. The food for me was one of the highlights of this holiday. Drinks - During the day you have a choice of 4 slushy style cocktails from 10:30 a 17:30, then after 17:30 a wider cocktail menu is available. All drinks were tasty and not watered down. There is waiter/waitress service around the pool for drinks which I could not fault. Service at mealtimes and the evening I also could not fault. Sunbed’s - This is the first holiday we have ever been on where we had to be up at 6:30 in the morning to get one of the day beds in the sun. We were down there before sunrise and quite a few of the day beds were taken - but we always managed to get a day bed

My partner and I stayed at the Syntopia hotel for a week and really enjoyed our stay! The staff are super accommodating and friendly, the room was clean and had all the amenities needed. We really enjoyed the food at the restaurant- both of us are pescatarian and we found there to be a lot of choice, and the food was of great quality. The hotel has three pools so we never struggled to find a nice sunbed, and enjoyed the frozen cocktails being served during the day. We booked massages at the spa which were a lovely way to end a relaxing week- special thanks to all the staff in the spa who looked after us. We would definitely recommend the hotel to others looking for a relaxing holiday!
