The Manor Hotel

Warm welcome from receptionist and efficient check-in. Period features were cool. Place seemed clean. Didn't notice any cobwebs or dust. Got Room 4. Looks like room has been updated throughout. Adjacent rooms with low numbers all had same style of updated door, so assume may all have been updated. Great view across valley when not foggy. Large hot radiator with thermostat and windows that open. No air con. Had dinner on first night. Mine was very delicious and service was great. Starter was supposed to be Chicken Liver Pate. What I believe I got was a Ham Hock Terrine. I was OK with that but others may not have been. Second course had the Steak Frites. Asked for medium and it came perfect for me. My other half is veggie. Not much choice for her and in fact the Rich Raghu in her Legumes dish was too rich for her taste and she couldn't finish it. Breakfast has cereals, juice etc. and coffee you can help yourself to. On our second morning also teapots, tea and hot water. If you would like freshly cooked items from the menu then I recommend you allow about an hour for breakfast as they took at least 30 minutes after ordering to arrive. Very nice though with runny yoke poached and fried eggs, and I prefer the wait to having the stuff left under hot lamps for ages on a buffet. Other half used pool and spa which was included in price for us as guests. She said the facilities such as changing rooms looked a little old and tired but all clean.

We cannot thank The Manor Hotel enough for turning our disastrous trip around! After a terrible experience with another provider, The Manor came to the rescue and provided us with an exceptional stay. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, festive atmosphere, beautifully decorated with Christmas trees in the hallway, which instantly made us feel welcome. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, making sure all our needs were met. A special thanks to the assistant manager, Suzanne, who went above and beyond to assist us. Not only did she arrange a room for us at short notice, but she also booked a taxi to and from the wedding we were attending – her effort made a huge difference. After a long drive, we were able to enjoy a delicious meal in the restaurant before heading to our room. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the staff ensured we were well looked after. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had a well-presented en-suite. It was warm and comfortable, exactly what we needed after a stressful start to our trip. The breakfast the next morning was just as impressive, providing a perfect end to our stay. Thanks to the wonderful team at The Manor, what began as a disastrous trip became a truly memorable and pleasant experience. We will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. A huge thank you to everyone at The Manor Hotel, especially Suzanne – you made our stay in Wales unforgettable!

A lovely quiet and scenic position for a hotel. Large clean room and good bedding , shower room adequate but would benefit from having a shelf. Excellent lighting in the room. Breakfast menu good, dinner menu quite ambitious but limiting if staying more than 2 nights and if allergic to mussels or are vegetarian/vegan. A little too much salt in some dishes. Number of choices on starter and mains better than for desserts and a wafer or biscuit with the ice cream would have been good. Staff very pleasant, friendly and all seemed able to turn their hands to other tasks as required , sometimes to the detriment of their primary role. There did not seem to be any management at the hotel but the willingness of the staff enabled the hotel to operate. Unfortunately it also meant that staff had to leave the bar/ dining room / reception unstaffed for long periods. Understaffed and under - managed.

Me and my now husband decided to book The Manor Hotel for our wedding, and it was the best decision! From the planning process to the actual day, everything was incredible. With little wedding knowledge, wedding planning was quite daunting! Luckily for us, Suzanne the wedding co-ordinator worked closely with us, and was so incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much for Suzanne or any of the staff, and I cannot begin to thank them enough. Thanks to them, our day was wonderful. Highlights: staff helpfulness, communication, menu, food (amazing!!), location, cleanliness, atmosphere, views. I would highly recommend The Manor Hotel for anyone looking for a beautiful wedding venue!

Well, this is a little gem. The rooms are clean and tidy, pillows are good as I usually take my own. The character of the hotel is lovely. Breakfast is very good. Ate in the restaurant in the evening we had steak omg excellent, compliments to the chef. Views from the hotel are stunning. Yes the grounds could do with some tending, but all in all our stay was great. Will definitely go back. All the staff were extremely helpful and caring. Thank you. Our daughter also enjoyed her stay with you as well.

We held our mothers funeral here and were deeply impressed. The hotel was very accommodating to our needs. We requested homemade savouries and cakes for the buffet. Everyone who attended the funeral was very impressed with the food. Mostly the scotch eggs and sausage rolls (would highly recommend you add this to any buffet). There was plenty of choice and even spares to take home. The hotel staff were quick and efficient in serving everyone and made sure the tea and coffees kept flowing. We were pleased that the hotel held the terrace and restaurant for the wake which meant we had plenty of space. Each area was cosy and both have the most amazing views of the mountains. Would definitely book again for an event, we are looking forward to our Sunday lunch next week.
