Hotel in zona The Old Farmhouse Laufas, Grýtubakkahreppur

Mio marito, mia figlia adolescente e io abbiamo trascorso una notte in una camera tripla (un letto matrimoniale e un letto singolo) con bagno privato. Questo moderno hotel dall'a**osfera scandinava è situato in posizione centrale, vicino allo splendido Giardino Botanico e alla zona del porto. La camera è grande, pulita e ben arredata. C'è molto spazio anche negli armadi. Anche il bagno era di buone dimensioni. La colazione era una combinazione di piatti caldi e freddi, quindi ci siamo saziati fino a cena. L'hotel era pieno di gruppi turistici, ma di notte era tranquillo. Il personale dell'hotel era gentile e disponibile. Quando abbiamo dovuto organizzare un rimborso per il nostro avvistamento di balene cancellato a causa del maltempo, il direttore dell'hotel ha gentilmente chiamato la compagnia e ha spiegato loro in islandese di cosa trattava la nostra richiesta (abbiamo ricevuto il rimborso).

My wife and I enjoyed a 17 day Arctic journey in the summer of 2022. My only regret is that our journey around Iceland included only a one night stay at Hotel Kea. Hotel Kea is a short drive (about 10 minutes) from the Akureyri Airport. The hotel has free parking spaces available right next to the hotel as well as paid street parking. We were able to park in one of the free spaces when we arrived. Check in went very smoothly and the staff was very friendly and helpful in providing us information about the area. Our suite (Room 504!) was spacious with a comfortable bedroom that included a desk, closets and flat panel television. Plenty of outlets were provided for charging devices. There was also a large living/sitting room with comfortable seating, another flat panel television, coffee service and lovely wall art. Off of the living/sitting room was a balcony with a couple of chairs and a great view of Akureyri city center. In fact the large windows throughout the suite provided great views. As with all of the suite, the bathroom was spotlessly clean with complimentary toiletries. Robes and slippers were also provided for use. Hotel Kea has an extensive bar as well as a restaurant; our stay included breakfast which was served in the on-site restaurant. The breakfast offerings included a variety of baked goods, fruit, breakfast meats, and other typical Icelandic breakfast buffet options. Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Akureryi and is a convenient walk to cafes, shopping, the waterfront and cultural sites. It is located next to the Akureyrarkirkja the iconic Lutheran Church. Hotel Kea is a perfect “home base” if your journey through Iceland takes you to Akureyri.

Molto mischiato sentimento su questo posto. Da una parte, amo quello che stanno cercando di fare, ma dall'altra si lasciano così tanto. In check in bed had been made only for one person so we had to be fixed, unfortunately by the time we realized the remote did not work for the TV that the reception lady had left. La camera era molto piccola, il letto era spostato verso il muro e non c'era vestito da sedere; entrambi avevamo un sacchetto ciascuno e non c'era abbastanza spazio. Inoltre, c'è un lavoro di costruzione da e verso l'hotel, credo che in precedenza avessero menzionato le viste idriche, ma la nuova costruzione bloccherà tutto ciò. Non c'è stato colazione, a differenza di dove siamo rimasti in Islanda. Non sarebbe rimasto qui, ci siamo rimasti a Mytven la notte precedente e vorrei che ci fosse rimasto lì più a lungo. Come menzione se fossero ridesignati le camere sarebbe molto meglio.
