Portogallo: hotel con palestra nella provincia di Distretto di Viseu

We stayed here for our wedding night, and while parts of the property are well thought out, the overall experience didn’t meet expectations for the price and rating. Positives first: the hotel is beautiful and tastefully designed. The spa is a highlight—well kept and run by a warm, professional attendant. The saltwater pool is nicely maintained and a thoughtful touch. However, service overall lacked consistency and polish. A number of small missteps throughout our stay accumulated into an experience that didn’t meet 5-star standards. At the pool—during a heatwave—we couldn't get service for nearly 2 hours. No one was staffing the bar, though it was stocked and locked with a tick chain—odd, especially since there’s an honesty bar inside. I tried calling reception, bar, room service—no one picked up. It felt like I was filling in for missing staff. Eventually someone came and we could finally order drinks. At breakfast, I had a frustrating exchange. I asked for sliced bread or a knife to slice the rolls, and the server replied defensively, saying I should slice the bread at my table and return to toast it—but I only had a butter knife… Breakfast overall didn’t meet expectations. Ingredients were good, but offerings were limited. One morning, there were no eggs at all on the buffet. Hot items were available on request (for sustainability), but with just one staff member, service was slow and inaccurate. Waiting 15 min for coffee or wrong egg orders isn’t aligned with luxury standards. By contrast, breakfast at Solar de Vilar Seco—where we stayed just before—was luxurious and abundant, with premium cheeses, international options, and stunning variety. Chef Gilbert deserves praise. Our room was fine by 5-star basics but felt small and underwhelming for the price and the setting (a former royal manor). Again comparing with Solar de Vilar Seco: rooms there were bigger, airier, and restored with original 18th-century details, creating a far more luxurious feel. There were also some odd quirks. Guests have to ring a bell and explain themselves multiple times—even to re-enter from the garden or spa. I get the intent is security, but the execution felt intrusive and didn’t match the relaxed vibe expected in a place like this. The service tone, while not rude, felt more guarded than warm. Staff rarely smiled, and basic interactions—from front desk to breakfast to housekeeping—lacked the ease and attentiveness that define luxury hospitality. Service should anticipate needs, not react to them—and here it often felt reactive and flat. Finally, a personal note: we mentioned this was our wedding night on our booking, a detail many hotels mark with a small gesture. I’ve had handwritten notes, a treat, a spa perk, even upgrades—all of which make a guest feel seen. In this case, nothing. I mentioned it again at check-in—it was brushed off. This isn’t about freebies; it’s about feeling that the hotel values your special moment. That was completely missing.

Questa è la mia prima volta che scrivo un recensione perché devo trovare un posto per disappuntare quanto sono deluso con l'hotel. Non ho avuto grandi aspettative, dopo tutto è Six Senses, non l'ultra lusso eppure è caduto ancora in fretta. Per essere equi, la proprietà è stupenda soprattutto la zona della piscina ma la stanza .....La stanza .....E' senza parole. Ho prenotato la stanza di vista del fiume che dice 50sqm ma non ha spazio per bagagli e il cassetto è all'interno del bagno, se si può chiamarlo cassetto. Che genio di progettazione. Le camere sono come antiche. Probabilmente dal giorno in cui l'hotel è stato costruito, il piatto di ferro era sporco e le tinture lasciate sui miei vestiti. Le manette della porta del bagno sono metalli preziosi con margini di rasoio agevoli che mi tagliano la mano.Il pannello di controllo apparentemente intelligente non è intelligente, non risponde a qualsiasi cosa premere. Ho premuto Non disturbare, ma non mostra se è in funzione o no, portando a casa a venire nella mia stanza alle 9 del mattino prossimo. Il ristorante è un ambiente piacevole e romantico, ma il servizio ..... Dopo aver aspettato 10 minuti per sedersi non è un problema, aspettato un'ora per arrivare il cibo non è nemmeno un problema, ma il cibo è venuto freddo dopo aver aspettato un'ora! L'esperienza è stata così brutta che abbiamo deciso di passare la cena il giorno dopo. Le strutture spa sono vicine alle 8:30, che è piuttosto presto considerato un resort di metro. La piscina era davvero carina. Se rimani lì, cerca di dimenticare la stanza e solo di rimanere nella piscina. La stanza è come un soggiorno di 3-4 stella al meglio Viaggio molto come potete vedere dal mio diamante più stato, ma fidati di me non sono un ubriacone.Questa è la mia prima volta che scrivo un commento perché non posso aiutare a non scriverlo .....

È stata una piacevole esperienza. Adoramo l'hotel , non è nuovo, ma le strutture sono buone e la zona della piscina è molto piacevole e la vista semplicemente straordinaria .  Il personale è super cordiale e amabile e attento . Abbiamo fatto colazione incluso e è abbastanza  bom Abbiamo finito per cenare i giorni di soggiorno, ed è stata una bella esperienza.  Vale la pena conoscere e tornare.

As vistas do hotel são incríveis. Está situado numa zona calma, com ótimas vistas mas fica longe de tudo. Limpeza deixa muito a desejar. Lençóis estavam sujos com cabelos. Pequeno almoço igualmente. Para um hotel de 4 estrelas deveria ter mais variedade e pão fresco, porque o pão não parecia ser fresco. Deveriam fazer reposição da comida, uma vez que, já não havia frutas e outras coisas. O preço é excessivo no bar da piscina. De resto, foi tudo impecável. Hotel muito bonito

Extensive work being carried out meant noise throughout the hotel. Every time we needed reception we had to wait for staff to return. On the plus side, the restaurant staff were excellent.

Nice staff, introduce the facilities in the hotel, gave you a welcoming drink. Large room with minimum items. Need to prepare your own tissue paper

Un bel hotel, ma deluso intorno alla piscina esterna La Pousada de Viseu è un hotel splendido, pieno di fascino e di storia. L’accoglienza, il quadro, le prestazioni... tutto era assolutamente perfetto. Un vero avvertice di pace. Purtroppo, la piscina esterna ha rovinato la nostra esperienza. I bambini saltavano in giro, sbattundo in ogni senso, urlando molto forte, senza alcun intervento dei loro genitori, né del personale dell’hotel. C’est extrêmement dommage qu’aucun panneau n’indique des règles de respect ou de tranquilité, et qu’aucun membre du personnel ne veille à faire régner un minimum de calme. Abbiamo scelto questo hotel per riposare in un ambiente pacifico, e non per vivere l’atmosfera di una giardina rumorevole. Risultato: non abbiamo nemmeno potuto godere della piscina, finché l’agitazione l’era costante. Signor direttore, se lei legge questo messaggio, vi incoraggiamo vivamente a introdurre regole di buon uso intorno alla piscina, in linea con lo stand della vostra struttura e le aspettative dei vostri clienti venuti a cercare calma e rilassante.

Le strutture dell'hotel sono buone, il cibo è pulito e regolare, il servizio è generalmente freddo, il personale è generalmente freddo e il rapporto costo-benefici è ancora molto alto.

La seconda volta qui, è sempre meglio che torni. Appartamenti superiori, con tutto il comfort. Piscina interna con acqua calda di cima, come non ho mai visto. - Una bella colazione. Tornando ogni volta che posso. Raccomandazione
